Amelia Longo

I’m Director of Strategic Initiatives with Interactive Mechanics, a Philadelphia-based design and development firm with an emphasis on digital projects for arts and culture. I previously worked in business development with GIS B-Corp Azavea and in community management for SecondMuse, where I supported Al Jazeera’s Media in Context Hackathon and the NASA Space Apps Challenge. Locally, I’ve helped run events like LocationTech, EcoCamp, and LadyHacks.

I also write for the stage, teach teens to blog about arts and entertainment with Mighty Writers, and serve on the boards of Camp Sojourner Girls’ Leadership Camp and the La Salle University Art Museum. I have a BA in Economics and German from La Salle University, I studied an obscure Viennese writer through a Fulbright scholarship, and I’m a proud Central alum (261). I was summarily rejected from thirteen separate Creative Writing MFA programs. You can follow me on twitter at @ameliaexmachina.
